Jaw Surgery (頭骨手術）(@enlightenedbeerbong)Is the harsh noise project of Chester Masangya (also from projects Coalminer, Aetheric Wound, Fossa Magna, Fleshcarver) based in Rizal, Philippines. Jaw Surgery concocts distortion, feedback, delay, and vocal mess into a cacophony of dread and psychosis.
Chester has worked with many prominent sound artists on his several projects like Hiroshi Hasegawa, Ethan McCarthy, Maurizio Bianchi, Toshiji Mikawa, GX Jupitter-Larsen, Andrea Pensado, Maurice De Jong, Torturing Nurse, Chia-chun Xu, Yasutoshi Yoshida, Kae Takahashi, and more.
Since 2023, Jaw Surgery ventured on a diy noise pilgrimage and visited Australia, China (Jaw Surgery China Tour 2023, A Bunch of Noise 2024), Taiwan (several tour runs), Indonesia Jogja Noise Bombing 2024, Malang Noise Fest 2024, Chaos Non Musica Fest 2024, and December Solo Harsh Fest).
On January 13, Jaw Surgery will perform an improvisation noise set with Kae Takahashi.
“Paranoia Survive”, their first collaboration noise tape will be available soon via a 🇺🇸 USA tape label.
