For me, their music was easy for me to absorb and use as a means to communicate musically with my teenage peers. From the punk anthems of “Dookie”, the jaded brilliance of “Nimrod” and on to the curiously operatic “American Idiot”; the albums of Green Day - and the songs of Billy Joel Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tre Cool - occupy an important place in my musical upbringing. I’m excited to be able to share this with everyone. Remember, nice guys finish last. See you there, guys.
