About this Event
This 3-day workshop is an introduction to Japanese papermaking and Printmaking within a comfortable, professional artist studio in Glasgow.
Participants will use specialist Oriental plant fibres such as Kozo, Gampi and Mitsumata to make a lovely selection of papers in various sizes on the first day. An introduction to Japanese Mokuhanga printing will then follow over the next 2 days.
Woodblocks will be carved and a small edition printed on Japanese papers using traditional cutting knives, Japanese inking brushes and barens (printing pads). Printing on beautiful Kozo paper, you will produce unique prints in the Japanese woodblock tradition. Demonstrations, samples of work and a video will also be shown.
