JAPA MEDITATION WORKSHOPWould you like to do something really positive for yourself this new year? Join me to learn about this powerful and transformative meditation technique and its many benefits.
Whether you are a beginner to meditation or a practitioner looking to renew and recycle your practice, you are invited to take part in this practical and supportive workshop.
What is Japa meditation?
Repetition of any mantra is known as Japa. This is important part, or limb, of Yoga, in the quieting of the mind and its preparation for Dhyana (meditation). The mala beads can also be used in conjunction with mindfulness techniques, as will be explored in this workshop.
Through repetition and repeated effort, a term known in Yoga philosophy as abhyasa, we can create positive patterns in our minds.
In this three hour workshop we will explore:
- What is meditation
- How to use the mala beads in your meditation & the significance of the 108 beads
- The techniques available in this method, from mindfulness to using mantra & the healing power of sound
- An introduction to some simple mantras and their meanings
- You will be guided through a simple Japa practice followed by a guided meditation, so you’ll get to experience for yourself the wonderful benefits and simplicity of this beautiful spiritual sadhana (spiritual practice).
* You will come away with tools for your own personal practice and feel empowered in your own practice.
* You’ll receive a detailed handout with notes and further reading suggestions.
- Opportunity for ongoing support-
Following the workshop, for those who would like to opt in, I am offering a six month ongoing journey, where we will meet once a month online, in order to support each other, further explore the practice, share any doubts, successes and challenges in our meditation practice.
This option is also a great way to stay committed to your spiritual practice, developing a habit and becoming accountable for your progress.
