Hi Everyone,Please plan to join us tomorrow night (January 6th) for the January Membership Meeting of the Carolina Beach Inlet Association, 6PM at American Legion Post 129 in Carolina Beach.
I have gotten NO reports on conditions of the inlet. If you have recently experienced going out or coming in, please share your experience with us tomorrow night.
Beach renourishment is on hold, but hopefully they will soon take a big chunk of sand out of our pit in the inlet to do this and free us up some space to put more sand, currently in our inlet.
Everyone of course is welcome to attend tomorrow night, whether you are a Member, a Past Member, an area Business Owner, Recreational Fishermen, Boat Captain, or simply someone that shares our interest in maintaining the navigation and safety of Carolina Beach Inlet. Plans are to meet at 6:00pm for our social mixer, the meeting itself will start promptly at 6:30pm.
I will try to confirm with Bryan with New Hanover County Shore Protection, about attending and offering any information he may have on related activities.
The Board has been discussing the need for our area to have its OWN dredge in order to keep the inlet both open and safe for navigation. The USACE just isn't capable of handling the job, and we can't wait on them. Having a dredge available when "we need it" vs. "when they can provide it", seems a lot smarter, when looking forward.
Of course a hard surface structure would be our preferred goal to permanently fix our situation, and something to work towards, but we ALL know what kind of reception that has received when mentioned in the presence of some.
Former CBIA President Jarvis Wise will share what the Board has also been working on with regards to studies; both past and proposed upcoming.
We will have a report from Annette Winner about the next event, The GREAT Chowder Cookoff, including the date and other exciting news related to this year's raffle prize. It's HUGE!!!
Hopefully you have renewed your Membership. We now have 3 different Memberships available: a FULL voting Membership for $100/yr, an Associate Membership for $50 (formally $35), and a Signature Membership that requires no payment what so ever. It simply includes those that choose this option, as a "supporting Member". Additionally, where else can you eat 12 meals a year for $100.
So, we hope you will renew! Here is a link, if you would like to do so NOW. https://carolinabeachinletassociation.org/membership/
To close out, rumor has it Annette is fixing Chicken & Pastry (Dumplin's for those less refined), for Members in attendance. Grab your bibs and come join us!
Thank You for your continued support of the Carolina Beach Inlet Association and our efforts to keep the inlet both open and safe for navigation!
We look forward to seeing you there Tuesday!
