Join us for the first Wetland Wander of the New Year with bird expert Pat Boleyn!About the walk:
Whether you are an experienced birder or just getting started, we’d love to have you join us for our first Wetland Wander of the year; a bird walk at Checkermallow Access! We’ll walk about 1.5 miles on pavement, wetland and gravel paths at the Dragonfly Bend and Meadowlark Prairie sites. Dragonfly Bend is managed by the City of Eugene. This site was formerly an agricultural site that is being restored to native wetland prairie. Meadowlark Prairie is co-managed by the City of Eugene and the BLM. This site is being restored to native wetlands.
Directions:
From Downtown Eugene take a right on High St. for half a mile, then turn left on OR-99 N/E 6th Ave/ State Hwy 99N for 3.3 miles then turn left onto Royal Ave for 2.8 miles then the location will be on your left.
*WREN's Wetland Wanders explore a different theme, conservation project, and site in the Eugene/Springfield area on the second Tuesday of the month. Please bring water, binoculars, closed-toed shoes, and dress for the weather. Walks are free and open to the public. No registration is required.
