Rick Kenney (OBE) 8th Dan will once again be leading the Masters Training Sessions for 2025.Rick has over 50 years in Judo and is currently the President Of The Commonwealth Judo Association as well as holding the position of Honorary Vice President of JudoScotland.
Rick has competed for Scotland and GB in both judo & wrestling and was GB Team Manager in the early 1980’s at both the European and World Championships.
If you can make it along you won’t be disappointed, you will also get an opportunity to take part in an open randori at your chosen pace with others of a similar age.
Assisting Rick leading the sessions will be Jim Feenan 6th Dan, between them they bring a great wealth of knowledge to the sessions.
As with previous sessions we will be following the usual format, coaching for around an hour followed by randori for the rest of the time for those who are up for it. £5 mat fee.
We have now adopted the new payment method where we are looking for everyone to pre-register and pay online via the JudoScotland website.
https://judoscotland.justgo.com/Account.mvc/Login?ReturnUrl=%2f
This is important to ensure your membership is up to date and you are insured.
Although pre-registration is preferred and is the defacto method of payment moving forward, there will be an option to pay cash on the day if anyone has issues or you make a last minute decision to attend.
If you have not used the JudoScotland booking system before, put in your Membership number as username and select you have forgotten your password.
If your membership has expired or you are new to the sport and do not have a membership, you can either scan a QR code in the dojo or I will ask you to complete a Membership form, this will then give you 4 free months membership for the price of 12.
If you are a non-JudoScotland member or have issues with the online payment, please contact JudoScotland by phone on +44 (0) 131 333 2981.
Please ensure you lock this date into your diary as it’s one not to be missed.
Remember these sessions are open to all players 29 years and above regardless of ability, gender, experience or grade, everyone can take something away from these sessions.
Looking forward to seeing you all there for a busy mat.
All session participants are expected to be valid JudoScotland or BJA affiliated members and should check that their membership is valid before attending.
Masters should arrive 15 mins before the session start time and be changed and ready (strapping applied etc) 5 mins before session start time. Please make a point of checking in with David or whoever is leading the session when you arrive so he can keep the paperwork up to date.
Changing facilities at the EICA are available and can be found on Level 2 of the building (Dojo is on Level 4)
COVID best practice:

Please do not travel to the session if you have any symptoms or feel ill in any way.
