Join us for a fabulous flurry of classes all about shag, followed by our monthly live band dance with the Onyx Club Boys! This January 17, we have two tracks (beginner and intermediate/advanced) of classes about Collegiate and St. Louis shag. Both Collegiate shag and St. Louis shag are types of swing dances, rooted in African American musical and dance traditions. Collegiate shag became popular from a crew of college-aged dancers who developed the energetic style. St. Louis shag has its roots in St. Louis, MO and has a distinct rhythm pattern and side-by-side starting position.
