Sarah Koski is a narrative strategist and Community Resource Liaison for Lane Transit District. In 2022, she left the world of nonprofit leadership and consulting to work in the trenches of homelessness as a case manager for one of the state's largest lowest-barrier shelters. Now, she dedicates her time to homeless advocacy, specifically during times of disaster and access to resources and supplies. Her work in the field of women's advocacy and the unhoused recently garnered her the 2024 Oregon Women's Commission Woman of the Year Award as an emerging leader.
Marion Pearson has been working in the social service field providing prevention and advocacy services to abused youth for over 40 years, first as a counselor in residential treatment; then as an assistant principal, program coordinator, and director of school programs; and later as a behavior analyst throughout multiple school districts.
After moving from Washington to Oregon, Marion began coordinating a child abuse prevention coalition for Mercy Foundation. In 2015, as a response to increased indicators of trafficking within child abuse cases, Marion helped establish the Douglas County Human Trafficking Task Force, the first community task force of its kind in Oregon, with the support of Mercy Foundation, community partners, and the Oregon Department of Justice.
Marion holds degrees in psychology and social work and is certified as a Human Trafficking Prevention and Intervention Specialist and serves the community as the local expert on rural area trafficking. In her spare time, Marion likes to kayak Oregon’s waterways, studies holistic remedies, and spends time with her 2 dogs, Kira and Taz.
