Title: Enduring Faith: A Critical Ingredient in Mourning
Description: Grieving has been described as a matrix of emotions when loss occurs, and mourning reflects both expression of those emotions, as well as the safe relational connection that provides validation and healing. Neuroscience informs, and scriptures In both the Old and New Testaments of the Bible describe healthy ways of processing the pain of loss. As we enter a new year, it's helpful to review the past and set goals for the future. This Interactive workshop will provide therapists with some personal review and applications for connecting clients to grow through loss.
Learning Objectives:
- Bulld understanding of the "Pain Processing Pathway" outlined by E. James WIider, founder of the Life Model.
- Learn evidence-based strategies for supporting clients through mourning utilizing scriptural concepts.
- Offer guided exercises to discover practical ways to find healing and growth after loss
Margaret (Gret) Mach Ian, LCSW, is a retired mental health professional with over 40 years of experience. Now, she volunteers with the Fort Wayne Department of Neighborhoods and Deeper Stlll of Northern Indiana. She will share her personal experiences with loss, Including family illnesses and deaths, and losses of relationships.
Fellowship is at 730am. Announcements and devotion will begin at 745am. One CEU will be provided (for 2025-26 members or those that purchase a single CEU ticket).
