The January Erie Torch Club Meeting will be on Wednesday January 7 at the Erie Yacht Club. Cash bar at 6 PM and dinner at 6:30 PM.Dues collection ($75.00 payable to the Erie Torch Club) started in September, and we stated at that time that all dues must be received by our club Treasurer, Dave Yonkers, by December 15th. The IATC has become very stringent about dues collection. Thanks to all members who have paid. If you have not paid yet, please do so at our January meeting, or mail them to:

$32 per meal cash or check made out to the Erie Yacht Club payable at the door. Deadline for reservations and choice of entree is 5 PM Friday, January 2. A reminder that no shows for dinner will be billed for the cost of the meal.
Our dinner will be a choice of two entrees, either Shrimp Scampi over Linguini or Beef Roulades, with Corn and Potato Chowder, Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Zucchini, Squash, and Red Peppers, Caramel Apple Blossom with Salted Caramel Ice Cream, with rolls and butter, tea and coffee.
Our speaker is Dennis Carlson, BS Business Administration. A lifelong lover of history, Dennis currently serves as a docent guide at the Hagen Historical Center. He previously volunteered at the Erie Maritime Museum from 2007 to 2020, offering tours of the Brig Niagara and lectures for audiences of all ages. As a former member of the Erie Civil War Roundtable, he has shared his historical insights with diverse groups and presented lectures for both the Roundtable and the Jefferson Educational Society. Dennis has also held the position of Treasurer for the Masonic Temple Preservation Foundation and served as past president of the Erie chapter of Jaycees. He retired in 2006 after a 40+ year career in business, manufacturing, and engineering, which included roles at True Temper, Amsco, Amsco Medical Products, and Bliley Technologies. Dennis earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, specializing in industrial management, from Penn State in 1969. In the 1990s, he furthered his education as an alumni participant in the Universityโs Civil War Studies program. When not volunteering, he enjoys reading, watching Penn State football, and spending time with his family at home or at the Erie Yacht Club.
