January Bartlesville Lunch and Learn: Caregiving—The Heart of America’s Hidden Workforce
Let’s begin with our Lunch and Learn group and have a conversation on family caregiving, inspired by the PBS documentary Caregiving (executive produced by Bradley Cooper). With 63 million Americans—1 in 4 adults—now serving as family caregivers, this session highlights the emotional labor, quiet heroism, and frequent lack of support experienced by both unpaid and paid caregivers. Together, we’ll explore what caregivers need, how our community can respond with greater empathy, and what meaningful, practical change could look like here in Bartlesville.
About the Speaker: Jennifer K. Clark, MD
Jennifer K. Clark, MD, is the author of Suffer., the award-winning book that invites readers to reimagine the human condition. A physician, educator, and consultant, Dr. Clark has spent nearly twenty-five years working at the intersection of medicine, meaning, and human development. She serves as Medical Liaison and Education Consultant for Clarehouse, Tulsa’s social-model hospice home, and partners with individuals, organizations, and systems seeking to evolve how they live, lead, and care.
