Landscape Painting inspired by Winslow Homer Join us for a workshop in landscape painting inspired by Winslow Homer and taught by Charlotte Pollock. Together, we will explore how to create landscape paintings from a photograph, while also understanding the concepts of sense of place, abstraction, plein-air painting, and realism. We will examine what makes a landscape painting both meaningful and successful, learn techniques you can apply to future landscape paintings or photographs, and hone your appreciation of beautiful places.
We will work with acrylic paint to learn the basics of mixing colors found in nature, how to use color and mark-making to express meaning, and how to use meditative sketching techniques as a way to evoke a particular mood. All materials provided!
