About this Event
Jo Boaler’s latest book, Math-ish, is a joyful celebration of conceptual mathematics and all that it can do for you and your students. It shares a range of pedagogical strategies to make mathematics accessible and engaging, including ways to deal with the excessive content teachers are expected to cover. This workshop will feature never-before-shared ideas that will help you truly develop a growth mindset, see mathematics in a different way, and learn the value of "ish-ing" across the curriculum. The workshop is appropriate for teachers of grades K-16, and every attendee will receive a signed copy of Math-ish!
Through presentations, classroom videos, and interactive breakout sessions, participants will gain an understanding of:
- Approaches to help develop a growth mindset
- New pedagogical strategies to unlock student thinking
- New approaches and materials for building number sense
The workshop begins at 9:00 am each day and ends at 3:00 pm each day. Breakfast and lunch will be provided. Participants will receive a digital credential verifying 10 Professional Development Hours (1 CEU).
