Gather for community and mutual support. We will have a presentation on the mind and chronic pain. Details to follow! Also, if you could request people RSVP to the best of their ability so that our presenter can have the correct amount of handouts and educational material.
Our guest is Cassie Finkner.
Cassie holds a master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling and has worked in the mental health field for approximately five years, with experience in related helping professions throughout her adult life. She is a single mother of two, and her youngest child has a history of complex medical needs.
Over the past year, Cassie has experienced significant changes in her own health, including diagnoses of lupus and anemia, along with dysautonomia and suspected hypermobility. This transition from being largely functional to navigating chronic illness has profoundly influenced her clinical perspective.
Her presentation focuses on the intersection of mental health and autoimmune disease, including the psychological impact of chronic illness, coping with chronic pain, and practical strategies for emotional regulation, self-compassion, and sustainable functioning.
Attendees will receive handouts, tools, and actionable strategies to support mental wellbeing while living with complex medical conditions.
