The Friends of the Acton Libraries is a 100% volunteer organization that has a unique remit; we donate funds to Acton's 8 elementary middle-school and high-school libraries, as well as the 2 town libraries. Our book sales and other activities raise money which we then distribute to these 10 entities. The funds we give to the elementary school libraries represent almost 50% of their book buying budget...

How to help:
Assisting with Book Sales: We hold 3 book sales a year. The sale needs a about 24 volunteers over the weekend to tidy books and assist shoppers. There is also work to set up the tables and books in advance. All very social.
Advocacy: You can advocate for libraries and their services by contacting elected officials or participating in library awareness campaigns.
Thank a Librarian: Volunteers can thank a librarian for their work.
