How would you like to join a dinner with a local celebrity? Ask a question of a heritage or culture expert? Be part of a very small group of “Jane’s Insiders?” It’s all possible when you join Jane and her special guests for our new series of “Salon Evenings” in her home.
Jane has opened up her address book and chosen some of the most dynamic and sought-after figures in Singapore’s arts, writing and photography scene as well as interesting personalities in politics, business and other realms, to join a small dinner in her home to discuss what they do and share a window into their passions and lives.
Especially since most of us can’t do much traveling these days, Jane’s salon evenings at home are an excellent getaway to dip your toe into a new world for a few hours without traveling very far at all.
Over the years, in addition to our tours, we have run many fun themed events, from Edith Piaf and Spanish themed evenings in cool shophouses, to jazz, theatre and violin concerts in beautiful Black & White houses, and more.
Jane’s new series of bimonthly salons (or “soirées” as French-speaking Jane likes to say!) at her home will kick-off on Feb 25 with SRT’s Creative Director Gaurav Kripalani as the guest du jour, followed on March 11 with one of Singapore’s finest actors, Adrian Pang. Then on March 26, Nathalie Ribette of SingTheatre will be our guest. Our first month will definitely be a theatrical one!
April will see us going literary with award-winning Singaporean author Josephine Chia on the 16th and anthropologist turned history and architecture expert and author Julian Davison on the 30th.
We will be working on special guests for the months of May onwards, and suffice to say Jane’s “Rolodex” harbors lots of intriguing and influential characters in it!!
Tickets are $120 per person and include a simple (pescatarian) dinner and lots of wine. Please sign up asap as seats will fill up, as the maximum number of guests per event is just 7!
