In partnership with Jane Austen’s House, this concert, curated by renowned director Nancy Meckler, celebrates Jane Austen’s 250th anniversary in music and words.Felicity Kendal reads extracts from Austen’s works, letters and notebooks interwoven with music by composers contemporary to and loved by Jane Austen.
The concert also features an exciting world première of ‘Notes for a Novel’ (Pride & Prejudice) by TV composer Peter Salem (“Call the Midwife”.
World famous tenor James Gilchrist will perform Schubert’s ‘Einsamkeit’ and the concert opens with Beethoven String Trio D major, Op.9, No.2
