Jamie Wright, born in Seneca, S.C., discovered her passion for music at five while singing at Bible Way Baptist Church. After rekindling her love for music in public school, she joined the choir and, through dedication, earned a spot in the honor’s chorale by 1995.Placing second at Nationals in high school gave her the confidence to attend the N.C. School of the Performing Arts, where she explored musical theater and opera. In 1999, she moved to New York City, performing with Opera Ebony under Wayne Sanders, who helped her refine her vocal abilities.
By 2001, Jamie transitioned to funk, soul, neo-soul, and R&B, working to develop her own style. After years of refining her sound, she released a self-titled demo and is now working on her first album. Today, she continues to perform as the lead singer of The Jamie Wright Band.
