Bassist and composer James Shortland has recently relocated to Melbourne after five years performing and studying in Sydney with some of Australia’s leading jazz musicians, including Warwick Alder, John Harkins, Kevin Hunt, Dale Barlow Etc.. His trio blends original compositions with jazz standards.
Joining him is Australian/Canadian vocalist Tiana Young (she/her), a versatile performer and Sydney Conservatorium graduate whose career has taken her across Australia, Germany, and Brazil. Known for her emotive delivery and scat improvisation, Tiana’s artistry bridges timeless jazz tradition with a contemporary edge.
