About this Event

James Montgomery Band

James Montgomery is a true blues heavyweight — a harmonica master with five decades of stories to back it up and a sound that’s both steeped in tradition and fiercely alive. Whether recording with Kid Rock, tearing it up on stage with Gregg Allman, or holding court with his own powerhouse band, Montgomery brings fire, soul, and swagger every time he plays.

Raised in Detroit and mentored by legends like James Cotton, John Lee Hooker, and Jr. Wells, he cut his teeth at the legendary Chessmate club before founding the James Montgomery Band in 1970. From there, he quickly became a fixture in Boston’s explosive blues-rock scene — sharing the spotlight with J. Geils, Aerosmith, and others, and eventually signing a multi-album deal with Capricorn Records.

A proud veteran of the Johnny Winter Band and a frequent collaborator with the likes of B.B. King, Bonnie Raitt, Bruce Springsteen, and even Mick Jagger, Montgomery has built a career on fearless musicianship and deep musical roots. He’s also known for assembling all-star “supergroups” for charity events, bringing together icons like Steven Tyler, Huey Lewis, and members of Boston, the Chili Peppers, and more.

These days, Montgomery is still touring hard with a razor-sharp band featuring David Hull, George McCann, and Marty Richards, while also lending his energy to causes that matter — from free healthcare for blues musicians to support for veterans and LGBTQ advocacy. If you want to hear a legend in his prime, this is your moment.

Sean Chambers & The Savoy Brown Rhythm Section

Sean Chambers is a blues-rock powerhouse with deep roots and a searing sound. Hailed by Guitarist magazine as one of the “Top 50 Blues Guitarists of the Last Century,” Chambers cut his teeth as bandleader for the legendary Hubert Sumlin before launching a solo career that’s earned accolades from USA Today to Living Blues. His fiery Strat work blends Texas grit, Chicago muscle, and Delta soul — drawing comparisons to Johnny Winter and Freddie King. Now touring with the rhythm section of Savoy Brown, longtime collaborators Pat De Salvo (bass) and Garnet Grimm (drums), Chambers delivers shows that are raw, relentless, and full of heart. With a discography that’s cracked the Billboard Blues Charts and a live presence that’s pure voltage, he’s keeping blues rock fierce, fresh, and ferociously alive.

“Guitarist Chambers achieves the distinctly American blues/soul/country/rock sound that the Stones used to aspire to long ago.” - Jerry Shriver, USA TODAY
