James Maddock’s status as a fixture on the Folk and Americana scene is confirmed with every listen of any song in his prodigious catalog. Relix Magazine put it this way: “James Maddock possesses the kind of lived-in craggy voice that would sound authoritative if he were singing the sports pages. Fortunately, he doesn’t need to do that because his compositional skills are a match for his delivery.”
After fronting the Columbia Records band Wood, whose debut Songs From Stamford Hill was featured prominently on TV shows such as “Dawson’s Creek,” Maddock moved from England to New York City in 2003. His 2009 album Sunrise On Avenue C won a New York Music Award for Best Americana Album, while the follow-up Wake Up And Dream ranked among the top albums of 2011 in WFUV’s (NYC) Listener Poll. With the release of Another Life (2013) and The Green (2015) Maddock continued to demonstrate why many consider him to be one of the best singer/songwriters working today. He has performed with Bruce Springsteen, Willie Nile, Aaron Comess (Spin Doctors) and David Immergluck (Counting Crows). According to radio legend Vin Scelsa, Maddock’s “heartbreakingly beautiful and exquisitely crafted” music “touches the soul.” As a songwriter, James recently had three songs co-written with Mike Scott on the new Waterboys album Modern Blues (which appeared in the Top 50 on the UK Albums Chart), a co-write with Gary Barlow (“Actress”) on Barlow’s new album (2X Platinum), as well as a cut (“Fragile”) on the Dirt On My Tongue album by emerging UK artist Jo Harman. Songs from Another Life have been featured on NBC’s Parenthood and ABC Family’s Switched at Birth. Maddock is a constant live presence in the U.S. and Europe.
Maddock’s latest, Night Work, re-visits the approach from Maddock’s Songs from Stamford Hill Wood days. Storytelling for Everyman, and Everywoman. Maddock at his best. In addition to his long-time NYC based band, some of the tracks feature former members of Wood. Night Work was released July 21, 2023.

Anana Kaye is a Nashville-based Indie Alt-Americana Duo. Hailing from Georgia, the other one, where Argonauts sailed to steal The Golden Fleece and where wine was invented 8000 years ago, Anana Kaye and Irakli Gabriel deliver a unique sound we rarely experience in such potent doses today. With influences including Kate Bush, Nick Cave, Leonard Cohen, and David Bowie their music is a genre-bending musical experience akin to twisting kaleidoscope.
Huffington Post calls them “rich, strong, tender, translucent, and dynamic. The luminous vibrancy simply embraces the listener, enfolding you into sumptuousness.” Anana’s voice brings their ambient sound back to reality with it’s luxuriously earthy tone and husky timbre.
Their first EP, the brilliant, atmospheric “Sentient” produced by Aaron Nevezie at The Bunker Studio in Brooklyn, came out in 2016, featuring Anana’s voice and her keyboards, along with Irakli’s left-of-center approach to guitar as well as songwriting collaborations with Freddie Stevenson and Mike Scott of The Waterboys. The record shrouds us with themes including purpose, love, death, and consciousness, but with their melodic guidance, the topics are accessible and enjoyable to question.
Their next album “Detour” was released on August 2nd 2019, diving deeper into the topics that make us human in the chaotic world around us, exploring themes of alienation and depression with an intensity from the couple’s spellbinding music married to imaginative lyrics about being kicked down and picking yourself up enough times to have an attitude about it.
March 19th, 2021 marks the release of their collaboration with the late Americana great David Olney, “Whispers And Sighs” which was written and recorded by Irakli, Anana and David in Nashville by Brett Ryan Stewart. The album has been met with a widespread acclaim and featured in publications worldwide.
Anana and Irakli currently live in Nashville TN where they also own and operate Duende Vision, a professional photo and video production company. They pride themselves on bringing a musical perspective to visual work with stylistic influences wide ranging in time period and geography. Their detailed, patient, meticulous and enthusiastic approach has been carefully bringing New York and Nashville artist’s vision to life in a unique fashion.
