James “Boogaloo” Bolden, member of the King’s Blues Band for more than 30 years, it was B.B. King who gave Bolden the nickname “Boogaloo” because of Bolden’s restless feet. He has traveled the world several times over and now he’s back in Houston where his love for music was born and cultivated. His resume is a who’s who of music greats. James “Boogaloo” has played with everyone from Stevie Wonder, James Brown, Isaac Hayes, and Blues great and fellow Houstonian Trudy Lynn. He was a member of the Duke Ellington Orchestra from 1974-to 1979 when he was tapped by fellow Houstonian, trumpeter, and bandleader, Calvin Owens to join the B.B. King band where he became his bandleader in 1980. Doors: 7:00pm
