ABOUT THE BAND:
Jamallama hates all genres, so they attempt to play all of them, successfully or unsuccessfully, depending on the number of beers they have had already. Right now, their repertoire includes Indian Fusion Rock, Hard Rock, Progressive Rock and some slow jams.
They are quite the multi-national dish. Standing upon the foundation of a shared love of all kinds of rock music, each member further seasons the masala with their own distinct personalities and musical influences:
Bengali and east indian folk sensibilities, south indian warmth and light-heartedness, chilenean laissez-fair-free-spiritedness, and german thoughtfulness and rigid perfectionism all clash and form a unique meal.
Carried by St. Maharshi's at times silky-smooth or ravagingly powerful voice and further enriched by the remaining members' harmonies, their songs come in english and various languages from the indian subcontinent, but rest assured, you don't necessarily need to speak Bengali or Hindi, for instance, in order to be gripped by their tuneful melodies.
Be it rocking hard, bouncing with gleeful simplicity, embarking on ever-evolving progressive sonic adventures, grooving with wistful emotivity or ringing an introspective acoustic tune that might transport you to the shore of a calm lake at nighttime - Jamallama encompass the full spectrum of rock music and then some!
