Songlike melodies and improvising, spontaneous cinematic textures, grooves and the blues from an improvising string trio who played such a wonderful gig for us last year, featuring Julia Dos Reis (viola), Annalise Lam (violin), and Miranda Lewis-Brown (cello). London-based J.A.M. String Collective released their debut EP in 2023, featuring sax legend Steve Williamson and drum talent Zoe Pascal. Their music includes re-imaginings of works by jazz greats such as Ornette Coleman, Thelonious Monk and Kenny Wheeler, alongside their own compositions, and influences including the ATOM String Quartet, Charles Mingus and Kronos Quartet.
