Join us for a FREE Show. Stop by for some wine and great live music.
Jake Waylon would tell you he is a jack of all trades and master of none. He’s a singer, songwriter, and a guitar and mandolin picker. He could fool you into thinking he was a drummer if he spent long enough to knock the rust off. He will pick a bass with no hesitation, play some trash harp like Dylan or Young, and is no stranger to a piano. Jake engineered, mixed, and co-produced Dale & Waylon’s debut self-titled album released May of 2020. It is a collaborative effort with friend and long time songwriting partner Ryan Dale.
“He's a quiet guy to pony up to at the bar, but an outpour of passion on the stage.” - Shannon Bagent- Black Sparrow Music Parlor- Taylor, TX
On top of that, Jake is a journeyman electrician, a pretend carpenter, amateur plumber, occasional house painter, stubborn do-it-yourselfer, wannabe-photographer/filmmaker, non-recipe following chef, and professional procrastinator. But music is the constant driving force in his life. He grew up on a steady diet of Guy Clark, Waylon Jennings (whom he is named after), Tom Russel, Todd Snider, John Prine, Billy Joe Shaver and other similar troubadours. Jake’s music can be categorized similarly to the above artists.
“I feel like my music is American roots music all lumped together with a little of this and a little of that, that's why I’ve always leant towards calling it Americana, which to me is just an amalgamation of country, folk, and rock and roll with a little bluegrass sprinkled in.” - Jake Waylon
“Jake Waylon is the real deal Americana. If you came to hear another bad version of Wagon Wheel, you're in the wrong place.” - Bill Allen- Bryan TX Talent Buyer
During the past decade or so of playing shows and honing his craft, Jake Waylon has had the pleasure of playing on many historic stages around central Texas. The most memorable being Nutty Brown, Hill’s Cafe, Saxon Pub, and Old Quarter Acoustic Cafe.
You can catch Jake playing around Central Texas with his bandmates Easton Falke- banjo, Josh Droegemueller- fiddle, Cash Lehman- bass, and Mikey Best- drums.
“He is a very talented musician and I would expect him to go a long way in the music business... I can't wait to hear what's next and have him back at KEOS.” - Jimmy Roberts- Bluebonnet Trail KEOS 89.1 FM
