Jacobo Vega-Albela presents a new band of musical collaborators from Rochester, New York. The quartet will be performing a set of original compositions by the members, as well as songbook selections and post-bop compositions from the 60s and onward. A fresh sound that is modern and forward-looking while rooted in the jazz idiom makes for a night of engaging music and exciting interaction between group members. Vega-Albela was a 2023 participant in Betty Carter's Jazz Ahead, and a 2022 graduate of the Eastman School of Music. He recently signed with 577 Records to distribute his debut album which is slated for release in 2025.
