“I remember the first time I heard “Smooth Operator”. It was so very different than any other song I had ever heard. I stood next to the radio in my living room, frozen in my tracks…transfixed by Sade’s gorgeous, exotic, warm, sensuous, texture rich voice. I was instantly transported into the vivid imaginings of the world of her Smooth Operator…transcending space and time. I was not familiar with this beautiful, mysterious & powerful vibe, but I knew I needed more of this…it spoke to my soul. Something in the majestic exoticism of her voice and the sophisticated expression of this sumptuous music let me know, deep in my spirit, that it was ok to be me…to completely and freely be myself…to live comfortably and proudly in my own exoticism, in my own beautiful truth.
Needless to say, I have forevermore been deeply enamored with the music of SADE…as many of us are. Thus, it is my great pleasure to invite you to my current show, “An Evening of The Music of SADE”. I like to think of this show as a beautiful piece of living art, in honor of the one and only Helen Folasade Adu and her phenomenal band, SADE.”
