The name Jackson Heights may be a new name to the Christian Music scene but the band has a rich history! In the 1980’s, they toured as The DMB Band and are credited with creating a new genre of music called Christian Country Music.
The band had many #1 hit songs in the 80’s such as “Good Ole Boys”, “Too Much Thunder” and “Jesus Is The Light” but stopped touring in 1988. In 2014, the band reunited and started touring again as Jackson Heights.
In 2020, the band released it’s 3rd studio project called “This Thing Called Life” with 8 tunes written by band member Kent Humphrey and 1 by band member Allen Oneal. They were also joined on this project by Country Music Legend Duane Allen of The Oak Ridge Boys on the song “Fight”.
Jackson Heights has been nominated for Vocal Group of the Year by the Inspirational Country Music Association.
Kent Humphrey states “We are having a great time touring and playing this music that we love”.
Jackson Heights has a great history in Christian Music but their brightest days are still ahead!
