๐๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ธ ๐๐ผ๐ป๐ฒ๐ has been behind the kit for nearly 30 years โ a drummer, composer, educator, and seasoned sideman with a deep rรฉsumรฉ and the chops to back it up. He got his start at 10 years old playing country gigs with his dad in North Louisiana, and by 19, he was working full-time playing jazz, blues, and rock all over the region.Jack holds degrees in Music Education (University of Louisiana at Monroe) and Jazz Studies (Georgia State), but his real education came on stage โ including extensive touring with Col. Bruce Hampton, Chris Duarte, and Blair Crimmins & the Hookers. You mightโve seen him on Rick Beatoโs wildly popular YouTube channel, where he broke down legendary drum fills and intros for millions of viewers.
From 2005 to 2022, Jack worked out of Atlanta as a go-to freelance drummer and educator, performing with Scott Henderson, Francine Reed, Tommy Talton, The Mike Veal Band, and many others. He also taught at the Atlanta Institute of Music, shaping future pros while gigging across styles and scenes.
Now based in New Orleans, Jack plays regularly with Lynn Drury, Willie Lockett & the Blues Krewe, and a wide range of artists in clubs across the city. He also leads his own projects โ his debut solo album ๐น๐๐๐๐ท dropped in 2023 and blends jazz trio sensibilities with synth-driven textures. You can stream it everywhere.
