Mark your calendars! ?Jaanipäev/Jāņi 2024, organised by the Estonian-Australian Association of Northern Territory & The Latvian Association of Darwin Inc, is happening on June 22nd at East Point - our beloved location from previous years.
Join us for an unforgettable celebration of Jaanipäev/Jāņi, the vibrant Midsummer Festival! Immerse yourself in this beloved cultural event's rich traditions and lively festivities.
This year's event will feature games & activities and delicious food to enjoy throughout the day. Experience the enchanting atmosphere as the sun sets and the bonfire is lit, symbolizing the warding off of evil spirits and the welcoming of the summer season. Join in the spirited folk dances, indulge in mouthwatering traditional dishes, and immerse yourself in the joyous ambience of this festive occasion. ? ?
The event will kick off at 4 pm and continue to the night. We'd like to request a donation on the day or before to help cover the costs, which can be paid in cash or by card. Kids are welcome to join and don't have to pay for the donation :)
The bonfire will be lit at approximately 6.30 pm when the sun sets.
