Jaakko Laitinen & Väärä Raha's music is a wild fusion of Balkan grooves and old Finnish tango-humppa-vibes. The band was founded in 2009 by Jaakko Laitinen from Rovaniemi and Marko Roininen from Inari and has released seven album since then and the latest one, 'Äyskäri' won them the prestigious Etno-Emma (FInnish grammy) prize. But most of all the band is known of their exuberant live energies, and they are perfecting their showmanship with around 70 gigs per year, from the hippest dance floors of Helsinki to the village fairs of deep North and toured around Eurasia in more than 20 countries from Kazakhstan to United Kingdom and from Denmark to Macedonia!
During the years they have fused their music with influences from Greece Turkey, Georgia, Russia and Middle-East. The lyrics are about love and drinking, but also go beyond the time and space deep into the existential questions and playing around with the very fabric of our reality. This is true arctic psychedelic polka.
It is time to put on your dancing shoes, raise a glass, forget the earthly sorrows and throw yourself to the crazy party music of the world's happiest country for eight consecutive years!
