Auntie Mae's is celebrating the Icelandic tradition of Jólabókaflóðið (pronounced yola-boca-flowdid) roughly translated as "yule book flood". Despite the long name, it's very simple: Bring a book, take a book, have a delicious hot drink, and read! How it works: Simply find a book (used is great, but good condition please), wrap it in brown paper or wrapping paper reversed so the white is facing out.
Write some teasers for what the book is on the paper without giving away the title or author. Example: For Pride and Prejudice you could write "classic OG enemies to lovers romance". Bring your book to Auntie Mae's on December 7th at 6pm and put it on the bar upstairs.
At 7pm, Jólabókaflóðið will begin as everyone selects a book, opens it, grabs one of Mae's lovely hot beverage options, and reads under our cheery Christmas lights or your own book light!
CLARIFICATION: YOU GET TO KEEP THE BOOK YOU UNWRAP!
