We all feel insecure or have self-doubt at some point in our lives and for most of us we get through it. However, what if you have people in your life, that feed those insecurities, the “Trusted Critics." Our presenter, Kajanda Love, will help you learn to go within and listen to the still small voice inside. This voice will help you to understand what is true and the steps you need to take to Overcome the Adversity of “The Critics”.Luncheons are open to all IWIL members and their guests. Kajanda Love is a dynamic leader with a career that exemplifies resilience, versatility, and a deep commitment to public service. Beginning her professional journey as a Flight Attendant with Continental Airlines, Kajanda soon discovered her passion for serving and protecting others, leading her to a career in law enforcement. She first served as a Corrections Officer with the Orange County Sheriff’s Department in California before returning to Illinois where she spent a decade as a Police Officer with the DuPage County Forest Preserve. Kajanda’s career took a pivotal turn when she embraced a leadership role as a Transportation Operations Manager with Union Pacific Railroad. However, her unwavering dedication to public service brought her back to law enforcement and public sector roles, including her impactful work as a Human Services Caseworker with the Illinois Department of Human Services and as a Medical Investigator with the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulations. Her leadership journey came full circle with her role as Assistant Warden at the Logan Correctional Facility, an all-female institution where she was part of a groundbreaking all-female administrative leadership team. In this position, Kajanda was not just managing operations - she was changing lives, empowering the vulnerable, and reshaping the narrative of those society often overlooks. Today, Kajanda is an influential Operational Excellence Manager for the State of Illinois, where she leverages her extensive experience to drive continuous improvement across state agencies. Kajanda holds a Bachelor’s degree from Chaminade University in Honolulu, HI and a Master’s degree from North Central College in Naperville, IL. Her story is one of relentless pursuit of excellence, making her a powerful role model for women leaders who aspire to make a meaningful difference in their communities.
