A challenging route with many ups and downs but the views are your reward. Beautiful forest trails, spot the deer enjoy Ashridge Estate.
 ABOUT THE WALK
This is a challenging route with many ups and downs but the views are your reward. We get one of the hardest climbs out of the way at the beginning of the walk, and then we have many woods and forests to walk through. There were no stiles to climb, just a few kissing gates to walk through, so dogs are welcome on this walk (although I need to check to see if the pub is dog friendly).
Highlights include:
-Visiting the quaint picturesque village of Aldbury and stop for a lunch in the Greyhound Pub.
-Many people think that the summit of Ivinghoe Beacon is the highest point however it is not. It stands at 233m but just to the south is a trig point at 249m near to Crawley Wood.
A lot of this route follows the old Ridgeway Path and also crosses a very nice golf course.
 ROUND-ROBIN QUESTION: Have you ever flown a drone or model aeroplane?
Please arrive by 8.45 am we will set off at 9 am sharp. If this is your first AG walk, then please arrive nice and early and seek out the walk leader who will be wearing a red "walk leader" pin badge.

Click the link above, then click "Navigate using Google Maps" . We often meet in places where there is no postcode, so we encourage you to use the What3Words app which will take you to the exact location.
 WALK LEADER(S): Julia Doherty
 IS THIS WALK DOG FRIENDLY? Yes, but I'm not sure about the pub (need to check!).
 REFRESHMENTS: Lunch at the pub, but limited throughout the day (bring snacks)
 WHAT TO BRING WITH YOU
* Good trainers or walking shoes (and other clothes of course!).
* A drink.
 RULES TO KEEP YOU SAFE :
-We walk in all weathers, however, if we have a weather warning then the event may be cancelled. Keep an eye on your emails and the Facebook event page for notifications of any cancellations.
-We will only ever walk in groups of 15 or less. If we have more than 15, we will usually have two walk leaders and walk in opposite directions.
-We supply free sweets at the halfway stage - we call this "squidge and dip" - hand sanitiser, then dip in for your free sweets.
