On Sunday April 27 2025 at 4 p.m. Chamber Music Wilmington is are thrilled to present the renowned IVALAS QUARTET at St. James Parish in downtown Wilmington. Praised by The Strad (a prestigious magazine dedicated to string instruments) for their “tremendous heart and beauty” the Ivalas Quartet is creating a profound impact in the world of classical music by celebrating both historical and contemporary BIPOC (Black Indigenous People of Color) composers alongside traditional repertoire.
Since their formation in 2017 the IVALAS QUARTET has sought to share their artistry and bring communities together through powerful performances. Their passion for sharing underrepresented voices in classical music continues to inspire audiences and elevate the concert-going experience.
The concert is open to all with donations kindly accepted at the door. Proceeds will be given to the Brooklyn Arts Music Academy (BAMA) as a way to strengthen and encourage this community musical arts school. Founded in 2018 in downtown Wilmington BAMA provides exceptional accessible music education through private and group lessons for instruments like harp violin cello piano and more. Serving over 130 individual students and 450 through its "Music Is Life!" program BAMA aims to enrich lives foster musical talent and promote character development for students of all ages and skill levels.
