On the first Saturday of May, over 20,000 runners, joggers, walkers, pushers, and rollers will take over the streets of downtown Indianapolis for The Greatest Spectacle in Running® — the IU Health 500 Festival Mini-Marathon.This iconic race kicks off in the heart of downtown Indy, featuring a flat, fast course lined with thousands of enthusiastic volunteers and nearly 50 high-energy entertainment acts. What makes the #IndyMini truly special is its legendary lap around the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, home of the Indy 500. As participants reach the famed Yard of Bricks, many take a moment to kneel and kiss the bricks, honoring a time-honored tradition.
The 2025 race marks the 49th running of this event, welcoming participants of all experience levels. Even if you’re not racing, the excitement continues at the 500 Festival Post Race Party in Military Park, where thousands gather to celebrate the finishers. Spectators and participants alike can enjoy live race coverage, great music, outstanding food from local vendors, and an ice-cold Michelob ULTRA, with complimentary samples for participants.
