Madelyn Archibald, born and raised in Harlem, is a self-taught sewing enthusiast who discovered her passion during the COVID-19 pandemic. As the founder of It’s Sew Maddie, she is dedicated to making sewing accessible, inspiring creativity, and fostering a supportive community for makers of all skill levels.
A featured designer in several fashion shows, her designs have also been showcased in an earring campaign. One of her most memorable moments was custom designing a piece for her favorite muse model and being photographed on the steps of the Met Museum during New York Fashion Week (NYFW).
Madelyn’s work and impact in the sewing world were recently highlighted in Raleigh.com, recognizing her commitment to empowering others through creativity. She is especially passionate about teaching women in transition programs, helping them gain valuable skills, build confidence, and unlock new opportunities through sewing.
Through her Sew & Tell series, hosted by It’s Sew Maddie, she creates a welcoming space where people can explore their creativity, share stories, and leave with a handmade piece and lifelong skills.
