Mighty Fine Arts presents "It's Not About Me" featuring new work By Courtney Googe. This show opens Sat Jan 10 with a reception for the artist and will run till Feb 22. Master printmaker Courtney Googe creates images with playful design but with candid intent. Her autobiographical prints explore her personal affects in order to shine light on the human condition. She is not above levity and humor and her work is infused with strains of art history and pop culture and sexual nuances. Ms. Googe comments: "Reflecting upon, and responding to, both abuse and love, I find myself in both. These self portraits in body, thought and emotion are an exposure of self, inviting connection, validation and solidarity. In being authentic and vulnerable, yet unapologetic, I hope to encourage others to do the same."
