It's My Park Day: Kayak Clean Up & Cumbia Social

Join the Emma S. Barrientos Mexican American Cultural Center - Casa de la Cultura Program, as we give back and kick back at Chicano Park. Join us at 11:00 AM for Festival Beach Cleanup and 12:00 PM for a free Cumbia Dance Class and family-friendly social cumbia dancing.
*You do NOT have to be a volunteer to join the dance social. Everyone is welcome to cumbia on the dock.
Volunteers are invited to care for Festival Beach and the surrounding lake area through a morning of hands-on volunteer cleanup. Help remove trash along the shoreline and from the water using kayaks. The ESB MACC will provide a 1-hour kayak rental for volunteers interested in helping clean the lake. 1 Kayak to 2 people. We will meet at the Festival Beach Boat Ramp along Nash Hernandez Sr. Rd. at 11:00 AM.

The event concludes with a joyful all ages, family-friendly, cumbia social, celebrating community, culture, and collective care on the boat ramp with music by Dj Cumbia Cuhh.
**Volunteers are asked to bring a water bottle and wear comfortable clothes you don't mind getting wet or dirty. We highly encourage you to bring shades, hats, and sunscreen.

Únete al Programa del Emma S. Barrientos Mexican American Cultural Center – Casa de la Cultura, mientras limpiamos y disfrutamos en Chicano Park. Acompáñanos a las 11:00 a. m. para la limpieza de Festival Beach y a las 12:00 p.m. para una clase gratuita de baile de cumbia seguida por un baile social de cumbia, familiar y para todas las edades.
No es necesario ser voluntario para participar en el baile social. ¡Todos son bienvenidos a bailar cumbia en el muelle!
Los voluntarios están invitados a ayudar a retirar basura a lo largo de la agua utilizando kayaks. El ESB MACC proporcionará un alquiler de kayak por 1 hora para las personas voluntarias interesadas en ayudar a limpiar el lago. 1 kayak para 2 personas. Nos reuniremos en la rampa de barcos de Festival Beach, sobre Nash Hernandez Sr. Rd., a las 11:00 a. m.
El evento concluye con un alegre baile social de cumbia, familiar y para todas las edades, celebrando la comunidad, la cultura y el cuidado colectivo en la rampa de barcos, con música de parte de DJ Cumbia Cuhh.
Se pide a las personas voluntarias traer una botella de agua y usar ropa cómoda que no les importe mojar o ensuciar. Recomendamos ampliamente traer lentes de sol, sombreros y protector solar.
