Ian Cochrane, a member of the Friends of Sri Lanka, writes under the pseudonym Max Holden. Ian started life as a military brat which ignited his travel bug, leading him through Europe, the Middle East and Asia. His career in content marketing brought him close to Sri Lanka, which he and his wife now consider their second home after many years in Dubai.
We will learn why Ian chose the pseudonym Max Holden and the story behind it. Ian will dive into his early blogging adventures with “Dubai Got News For You” and “Lanka Lines”.
Ian will share his journey into writing novels and writing crime, thriller, and mystery genres providing anecdotes and reasons why Sri Lanka plays a significant role in his writing.
Find out the inspiration behind the fictional Sri Lankan town “Puluwala” in his books and the research that has gone into creating the main character Detective Inspector Asoka and the insights gained from Ian's contacts within Sri Lanka’s police force.
