About this Event
During this class we explore the hybrid quality of information and representation. We start with a visual image and explore ways of converting it into audio. The resulting sound piece is then edited and reverted into the visual medium. We then convert the visual into a 3D digital model.
This process is then continued in an iterative manner utilizing open-source software we convert and open the asset procedurally examining the capabilities that are offered through this approach. The focus of the session is to impart a greater understanding of dissonance, creative potential and just how malleable digital assets can be.
The workshop offers a fun and playful way of learning some new digital skills and hopes to impart a degree of criticality in relation to the tools we use and how we use them.
