George Bailey, a community banker who has seemingly lost it all on Christmas Eve, falls into despair - when he's visited his guardian angel, Clarence, who shows him what life would be like if he'd never existed.
Why we're showing it: Considered not just one of the best Christmas movies, but also one of the best movies of all time, It's a Wonderful Life is another winning collaboration between legendary director Frank Capra and star James Stewart. Though a failure at the box office initially, this film is now a beloved Christmas classic, and is in regular rotation at The Historic Artcraft Theatre.
