Covid-19

UHBW Simulation Centre is operating in alignment with UK Government guidance and University Hospitals Bristol and Weston guidance around Covid-19. We have Covid-19 safety measures in place throughout our Centre (including social distancing, the wearing of PPE and regular cleaning) and training will be delivered within these parameters. Our risk assessment can be found and will be sent to all course attendees prior to their arrival. If would like to attend a course at UHBW but are concerned about your safety, we would encourage you to get in touch with our team.

Please note that by attending training at UHBW Simulation Centre, attendees are declaring that they are not showing any Covid-19 symptoms (a new, continuous cough, high temperature or a loss of taste or smell). If attendees develop symptoms during training, they must inform a course director and return home immediately for self-isolation and testing.

The course details

We all recognise that debriefing is the most challenging part of, and yet the most important element of simulation based education. Therefore, we have created an opportunity for you to spend a day focused on debriefing tools and techniques in the world famous UHBW Simulation Centre (formerly known as Bristol Medical Simulation Centre).

This one day course aims to build on your debriefing and simulation experience and would suit anyone who wants to enhance this core skill.

During the course you will:

• Learn a toolkit of debriefing skills (iTrust model)
• Recognise which technique is appropriate for which situation
• Practice applying debriefing tools with expert supervision

This course is facilitated by a multi-disciplinary faculty who are experienced and enthusiastic practitioners of simulation within a wide range of healthcare contexts.

Places are limited to 14 per course

• This course is free for staff of University Hospital Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust. Please note internal places are limited to 4 delegates per course.
• Fee for external nurses/AHPs/non-clinical - £150
• Fee for medics - £210
