Have you always wanted to cook like the Italians do? Of course, you do! Capture the Passion of Italy in these Italianicious cooking classes at Cooking on th Bay. Discover the basics of Italian gastronomy, freshness, simplicity and lack of pretension, with delicate as well as robust dishes packed with flavour. Learn how to make the best pastas and the sauces to match.
Using great quality extra virgin olive oil, fantastic cheeses, tomatoes, olives, aubergines, zucchinis, garlic, basil, rosemary, sage and lemons feature prominently. Fresh, seasonal Real Food feature in the Italian dishes we make in this class.
The menus change with the seasons and include the best local, seasonal, ‘nutri-rich’, healthy, real whole food in keeping with my Cook Real Food philosophy.
Italian family life is centred around the kitchen and the table; it appreciates good home-cooked Real Food. Learn to cook these Italian dishes with fresh, local and seasonal produce, just as the Italians do.
Italianicious presents a range of interesting antipasti, focaccia, pasta, ravioli, pasta sauces, risotto, arancini, main dishes, saltimbocca, tagliata di manzo, eggplant lasagne, desserts, pannacotta, tiramisu, affogato; some old and traditional dishes, like risottos, and some new. All require various culinary skills which you will master in this class.
Learning how to make hand-made, egg pasta is a joy, most satisfying and delicious to eat. Pasta-making is always included in this class. Simple pasta dishes become taste sensations when teamed with vibrant, flavoursome sauces. Once you have perfected the simple techniques, pasta is quick and easy to make and cook.
All classes are small, hands-on, relaxed, fun and informative. You are welcomed with a tea, coffee, cold drink and a cake or biscuit made in-house in the Cooking on the Bay kitchen. You take home a comprehensive recipe booklet of all the recipes we cooked in class, plus cooking extra hints and tips. Everything you need is provided for the day. Enjoy a leisurely, sit-down, Italian-style 3 course luncheon with wine to savour the food you cooked in the class. All overlooking the picturesque bay.
