Your guide is Roberto Stucchi Prinetti. Roberto is a pioneer among the new generation of winemakers who have built on a family legacy while creating wines better suited to contemporary tastes. In addition to his role at Badia a Coltibuono, he is president and one of thirteen founders of the Biodistretto del Chianti. His work in Chianti Classico includes converting the family estate to organic farming and achieving certification—now 20 years ago. A remarkable feat, given that the estate is on land where archaeological evidence has determined that winemaking has taken place for over 1,000 years! Don't miss this unique opportunity to taste and learn from one of Italy's finest!
Badia a Coltibuono, nestled in Tuscany, boasts almost a thousand years of winemaking history. Originally an abbey founded in 1051, it transitioned into a renowned winery after World War II. Today, led by the Stucchi Prinetti family's fifth generation, the estate spans 150 acres of vineyards, primarily cultivating Sangiovese alongside traditional varieties. With a commitment to sustainability and minimal intervention winemaking, Badia a Coltibuono produces a diverse range of wines, from classic Chianti Classico to innovative blends. Beyond winemaking, the estate offers a serene retreat, featuring an abbey, gardens, a restaurant, and a cooking school. Discover the timeless allure of Tuscan winemaking at Badia a Coltibuono.
The format includes a standing tasting and seated lecture.
Tasting starts at 6:30 pm promptly and the lecture at 7 pm.
