In this SA History Festival event, come and see an exhibition of Italian glory boxes and listen to the stories behind the items.
Drop in to the library to see this exhibition of glory boxes specially curated by two Italian sisters - Claudia Callisto and Laura Di Martino-Kempt - with a passion for cultural storytelling.
This exhibition celebrates the strong Italian-Australian traditions of the 1950-1980 era where no bride married without an elaborately prepared 'corredo' (dowry) and speaks to the power of love filtering through generations of Italian women.
There will be a presentation at 11am where you will hear about the stories behind the collection. The exhibition can be viewed anytime between 10am-2pm.
