About this Event

Please come and join us for the regional launch of the “It’s Not Love” films and online digital resource, that have been designed to help support teachers and professionals working with children and young people aged 11 years plus, to explore and understand about healthy and unhealthy friendships and relationships.

The 3 films explore 4 characters' lives and their experience of interpersonal domestic abuse and coercive control within friendships and relationships and safeguarding on social media. Alongside the films there are digital learning resources to support the delivery of the films in schools and youth settings .

In partnership with the NSPCC, the films and digital resources were created & developed by York St John University (YSJ) Performance department and Tea films and are based on the “It’s Not Love” theatre in education play and drama workshop created by YSJ. This national touring play seeks to prevent harmful sexual behaviours and coercive control that may lead to adult domestic violence and abuse in intimate partner relationships.

Thanks to support from the local “Give it to Get it” campaign, the play with accompanying workshop successfully toured secondary schools across Yorkshire and Northeast Lincolnshire. As a further legacy of that healthy relationships campaign, the play and new films and digital resources have been developed to support professionals across the UK going forward.

The new digital resources on the NSPCC Learning website include the powerful character films, comprehensive lesson activities and support for teachers, detailing links to the curriculum.

Parking

There is no parking for any vehicles on site and ANPR cameras are in operation 24/7.

We have a small number of Blue Badge spaces available, these spaces can only be used if guests have pre registered their number plates by emailing [email protected].

Registering your details does not guarantee a space, as they operate on a first come, first served basis. Please ensure your blude badge is displayed clearly in the vehicle.
