About this Event
ISSUED NIGHTS is a recurring gathering centered on listening as a shared practice, bringing together sound, text, and dialogue in an intimate setting.
Curated by TRUST SIGNAL and made possible with support from the FORTHEFUTURE Research Initiative and Lore Leimert Park, ISSUED NIGHTS treats listening as both method and meeting place- where sound becomes research, process, and collective inquiry.
Upcoming Issue
ISSUED NIGHTS · Vol. 02: Live Exploration
This second gathering expands the ISSUED NIGHTS format to include a live demonstration and open experimentfacilitated by Tru (Host) and Ashley Younniä.
Using field recordings captured in Leimert Park and during recent trips into nature, the artists will weave sound through turntables, electronic effects, and outboard tools. Rather than a performance or concert, the evening unfolds as a real-time exploration—inviting attendees into the process of listening, decision-making, and sonic experimentation as it happens.
Reading + Dialogue
The night will also include a short shared reading from
“Diaspora Memory Place: David Hammons, Maria Magdalena Campos-Pons, Pamela Z”
by Salah M. Hassan & Cheryl Finley
The selected excerpt reflects on Pamela Z’s performance pedagogy, grounding the live sonic exploration in questions of voice, technology, memory, and embodied listening. A facilitated dialogue will follow.
