About this Event
Exactly a year and a month after the Black Sabbath of October 7, please join us to listen to a dynamic, emotional and insightful audiovisual presentation on what is actually happening in contemporary Israeli music.
Benjamin Rubin has curated a selective playlist of the most representative popular songs that Israelis have been listening to since October 7.
Most songs were newly written for the situation; some are new versions, sung by young singers, of old songs; some songs are war-related; others are thematically related, about returning home, being apart, fear, anger, sorrow.
The presentation combines music, video and analysis, with printed lyrics in Hebrew and English, that will give an immersive experience of the Israeli emotional landscape and provide understanding of how these songs reflect - and affect - important developments in Israeli culture, society and politics.
The event will be conducted in English
The revenue from this event will be going to support Israel Respite and Recovery.
